How we price an event (and what the invoice actually covers)

Venue hire is not the event. Here is how Vel Events structures retainers, production fees, and vendor pass-throughs so budgets stay honest.

How we price an event (and what the invoice actually covers)

Most first conversations start with a number: “What will this cost?” The useful answer is not a single figure. It is a map of what you are buying — creative direction, labour, equipment, and other people’s invoices.

At Vel Events, every proposal splits into three layers. The studio retainer covers planning, design, vendor management, and show-calling. Production costs cover crew, lighting, sound, staging, and transport. Vendor pass-throughs — catering, florals, talent, décor fabrication — are quoted by those partners and paid through us or directly, depending on the contract.

We do not hide mark-ups inside a lump sum. If we apply a coordination fee on a vendor, it is listed. That is how you compare a ₹4.5 lakh wedding package with a “₹2 lakh inclusive” quote that quietly excludes AV, generators, and the overnight crew.

Packages on this site are starting retainers, exclusive of venue. They exist so you can shop the work the way you would shop a service: see the inclusions, see the guest band, and enquire with a date. Your final order is a statement of work, not a shopping-cart surprise.

If you are comparing studios, ask each one to itemise labour hours, technical plot, and strike. The cheapest line on day one is often the most expensive on the night, when something has to be hired at emergency rates.
